Thermoplastic Polyurethane Membrane (TPU)

From a low grade barrier film to a high grade breathable membrane, this is a versatile solution that satisfies traditional needs and finds application in several sectors from garments to automative industry. The pore-free, monolithic and hydrophilic surface of the membrane provides protection from wind and water. The technical characteristics such as thickness, hand feeling and colour can be customised. It could also be printed with patterns with the possibility of creating exclusive designs.

Coated Polyurethane

  • Hydrophilic PU

High-performance membrane that can improve the functions and aesthetics of the fabric, to guarantee maximum comfort thanks to its soft handfeeling. Even as an extremely thin layer, it guarantees excellent breathability and impermeability, as well as being extremely soft and elastic. The colours and patterns can be customised.

  • Hydrophobic PU

This is a membrane with excellent water resistance, even after several washes, which allows long-lasting performances for harsh conditions. When it comes in contact with water, the membrane does not swell and is therefore also suitable for external use making it popular in fashion business. The colours and patterns can be customised.

  • Microporous PU

With microscopic pores, which is large enough to allow water vapour to pass through while small enough not to allow waterdrops to penetrate, this is the perfect membrane for anyone searching for a balance between breathability and impermeability. The membrane keeps the body dry and comfortable thanks to its light and soft structure.

Polyester

This membrane with high technical specifications is the right choice for the production of durable and long-lasting garments. It is suitable for applications where higher temperature resistance is required, such as sublimation printing.

Its high breathability performance is coupled with being environmentally-friendly and easily recyclable.

e-PTFE Membrane

e-PTFE Membrane has superior properties such as Water pressure resistant, air-permeable, oil-repellent, resistant to chemicals and high&low temperatures. The porous structure effectively drains sweat and balances body temperature, maintaining the utmost comfort.

  • Monocomponent e-PTFE

This membrane has a single layer of monolithic structure constructed by Polytetrafluoroethylenes consisting of carbon and fluorine molecules.

  • Bicomponent e-PTFE

This membrane has a bi-layer structure consisting of e-PTFE coated by a PU layer. PU coating enhances its physical properties and strength such as resistance to water pressure.

Nano Membrane

It is fully made of fibers and the diameter of nano-fibres is just 150 nm. Thanks to this unique structure, the number of pores in the nano-fibre membrane is higher by 25 % compared to other porous membranes (ex. PTFE ). Therefore, this membrane is suitable for physically demanding activities such as jogging, biking, hiking etc.

Specialities – Additional Features

Flame retardant

By adding adequate compounds into TPU, PU and PES Membrane masterbatch, Flame-retardant properties of the membranes could be enhanced. FR property is required especially for fireproof clothing and accessories having several levels of protection.

Antibacterial

This is a membrane with bactericide properties, specific for applications in medical fields and where healthcare prevention and protection is required.

Conductive

This is a breathable and waterproof membrane with highly conductive, antistatic properties, which is able to evenly distribute and maintain heat over its entire surface thanks to the Graphene coating on its surface.

Blackout

This membrane limits or blocks the sun rays. This feature is widely used in Blacout roller blinds. They offer the possibility to completely blackout the light from the window and is an ideal solution for the bedrooms.

Thermochromic

The membrane changes the colour at a designated temperature once exposed to heat. Customizable in various colour combinations of colour change at the adjusted temperature threshold.

Iridescent

When struck by light, the membrane takes on shimmering hues that create particular plays of colour. It is often used in the fashion world due to its particular shade.

Photoluminescent

Appropriated natural or artificial light is released by the membrane for several hours in darkness. It is especially suited for designing trendy, sports and protective clothing.

Eco-Friendly

Biobased

Garment industry is becoming increasingly aware of sustainability and respect of the environment. Bio-membranes respond perfectly to the requests of a consumer who is more aware and take more care in his choices when buying a product. In order to gain Biobased label, 25% of the membrane must be of biological origin, coming from a renewable source such as corn, which is totally petroleum free.

Recycled

The trend and popularity of a circular economy to recycle materials to transform them into new products also impacted the membrane business.

Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is intended to be used with any product containing at least 20% recycled materials as the goal of GRS is to increase the use of recycled materials in products and reduce / eliminate the harm caused by production during the period.
